Last November I did one of the most adventurous things I've done with my life... I quit my full time job in a jewellers and travelled almost all of South East Asia and Australia. It was a big risk, knowing that I was leaving it all behind and was going to be coming back to no job. But I believe in jumping off a cliff sometimes in life and taki risks, because you never know how things can turn out.
I was away for 9 months altogether, and the whole thing taught me a lot.
Getting to see so many different cultures and meeting so many different types of people really opened my eyes and educated me in ways I could never have imagined.
Something I realised when travelling was how important jewellery can be in culture. We all know that jewellery has remained a symbolic and personal thing for many people throughout history, I find it fascinating, and will post more about the jewellery I picked up when travelling another time.
Anyway my point is, after 9 months of being away and seeing all sorts of cultures, one thing remained the same, my interest in jewellery wasn't longer just something I had been doing as a job for 5 years, it had grown into more of a fascination and admiration for beautiful items and the meaning behind them. I love what jewellery symbolises and the power it can bring to those that wear it.
Being inspired from the whole trip, I've had some ideas of my own and always knew I wanted to go back into working in jewellery. I set up my own business selling a range of beauty products under the Forever Living company when I got back, which is another thing I am passionate about -healthy living and natural products. Click my "forever heaven" link above to be taken to my online shop.
But again, that's another story, and like any new business I'm getting it up and running which does take time. It is very rewarding though and I love that.
One day I want to go into jewellery design, and being part of Forever will definitely help me achieve this dream. However, a job opportunity came up also, which I thought was quite spooky since I knew I wanted to go back into jewellery part time aswell as having my own business. Being around it and getting to work with it is something I always enjoyed and can only count for more inspiration, so I went for the job and got it! Why not do both?? And to celebrate I bought these adorable owl earrings...

Aren't they awesome? Found them in Internacionale for £2.99,(last of the big spenders here at the moment...) but got to the till to discover they had been further discounted. Don't you just love when that happens?! ;-)
They go with anything and add a touch of glamorous sparkle! Gorgeous! X
